I was called out to a home to have a chat with a beautiful Pit Bull called 'Kailo' ... and yes, he is a beautiful dog. Very playful and loving, but taking over the house. His owner, Cat, was beside herself because she couldn't control him. Of course a dog of this size is quite a handful when he has the run of the house. We changed that very simply starting with making him understand that he didn't need to fill the holes in his hardwired pack behavior anymore .... we were going to do it ! Kailo came through as I had expected and what a wonderful example he is. I must admit I do get a little sensitive when I see these beautiful creatures stereotyped and abused because of their breed. A short walk down the street and the neighborhood children were asking to pet him - Who am I to say no ? I know he loved the heck out of it ! Cat came through like a champion, walking her dog with authority and a calm yet strong manner about her. Kailo knew it and loved every minute of it. Nice job Cat .. I am very proud of you !!!
"I normally can't control Kailo period ! When I saw James walk Kailo right in front of my neighbors house two doors down where I usually lose total control of him I was amazed ! James took control of him from the start. Kailo didn't exit before him, enter before him and was totally submissive throughout the time James was in my house. I just can't believe he made it look so simple and indeed he has a great gift. Within minutes he had total control over Kailo and transformed him into a total different dog. I am very pleased with the results and being able to walk my dog without being pulled. Coming home without my arm and back sore is a very pleasant feeling. His technique is great and his people skills are wonderful. James taught me how to be a pack leader and take control of my dog and not let Kailo control me as he was doing. This was a very wonderful learning experience. Thank you James, and to all my fellow Pit Bull lovers? ... this is the man to see if you really care about your dog." - Cat, Rosamond, CA
