Meet The Pack
Meet Our Pack

The Beauty of the pack ! They do things that make us smile, frown, laugh, cry, love and in some cases just plain frustrate !

Provide them with structure and love and you will have their respect. They don't require a huge amount of attention, just give them the happy coexistence with our families. When you make a commitment to them, trust me they will return the gesture !

My favorite thing to do is take them out to the wilderness and enjoy a good, long walk .... they love you for providing an exercise routine as well !!!

When you can honestly look into the pack and know they respect every scent, site, sound, emotion and your positive leadership .... you did good today - Give yourself a treat !

Shoei "Bombastic Pooper"

My "Pride and Joy" !!! Shoei (sho - w - ee) is a rescue dog as are all of my dogs. It seemed that his look and temperament were a little intimidating for most and adoption was difficult. There was just something about him when I saw him laying in the cage. He was anti social with people and dogs. No interest in playing and literally one day away from being put to sleep.

We had to have him and that is exactly what came to be. A couple of days later he was at home. Shoei is not for sale or adoption under any circumstances, this boy is mine and is an excellent counselor for the pack and when we bring rehab canines into the home. Shoei is also an awesome guard dog for the house. The other members would lick you to death but this guy takes his job a little more seriously.

Shoei has continued to improve over the time I have had him. He has never failed to show loyalty, discipline and love in return for the structured life that he has with the pack. Quite honestly, I have yet to come across a more shining example of rehabilitation

Maximus Aurelius

"General Maximus Aurelius Decimus", a 1 year old German Shepherd. This guy is absolutely statuesque. Right now he weighs in at roughly 90lbs, room for more growth and, believe it or not, underweight.

Maximus was found wandering around, abandoned by his family. Its easy to see why a dog of this size could become a handful in a short space of time in the wrong hands.

He is going to stay with us and I expect this beautiful dog to get to around 140lbs when fully grown. Maximus will not be up for adoption.

Miss Daisy

Miss Daisy is a pure Bred Saint Bernard that Animal Control told us was 2 years old. She was incredibly sick infested with fleas, she had tapeworm, kennel cough, fur missing on her back and very underweight.

We later discovered she is merely 11 months old and just a puppy. After a few vet visits and a few weeks she is getting back to normal. It's really funny having a 110lb puppy, playing and drooling all over the place.

She is a wonderful dog and very affectionate and now her fur looks better and she is full of energy. I have never owned a St Bernard nor have I seen any behavioral calls for one so this is a delight for me to be able to study her and I'm loving it. Whoever stuck this dog in the pound has lost a great dog.

Sushi

Sushi is a little over a year old. Once again this dog was given to us by our friends at "Halfway to Home". I take these dogs home so they will stand a better chance at getting adopted, however, I may just keep this one since she gets along with Shoei so well.

It's not all together certain about her history, but she was found on the side of the highway, cowering in a trench. She was underweight and afraid.

Considering the fact that she has had an unfortunate beginning our job is to make sure that moving forward her life only gets better and she can trust us to become a settled and stable family member.

I am so far happy to tell you that within a few minutes, she was walking on a leash without fighting, she has gained weigh, she is no longer afraid and she has become comfortable around us humans.

She is a beautiful dog and has shown the intelligence her breed is renowned for.

Misty "Mook"

Misty is a perfect combination of a 'princess', yet an understanding of what it means to have a home. We are training her to become a 'Special Needs' dog for people with asthma. She is the 'mother' of the pack. She checks on all the dogs like a canine Florence Nightingale.

I will sound like a broken record when I keep telling you how much I adore these animals - But trust me, it only takes a little time and commitment to get the results. As long as you show patience and consistency you will see for yourself.

Katie "Cool"

Katie is another member who came to us via "Halfway to Home" rescue. She is about 2 years old and a Shepherd/Wolf (coyote) mix, yes I said Wolf or Coyote !!! She is an unusual combination breed, but a lovely dog. She respects her boundaries and is incredibly smart.

Although having a dog like this may be a little intimidating to some, she shows and very loving nature and is adorable to the tee. I first got her because she showed food aggression but that was quickly nipped in the bud.

She plays with the pack and loves people, I'm proud to have this special dog as a member of my pack.

Moco

Ironically this little guy is the smallest and oldest member of our pack. Literally rescued at the "11th hour". Everyone said this little guy was a little bugger (Hence the name). The vet even said he was aggressive and a biter. Truth be told he had fear aggression from the abuse he had suffered in his 5 years of life.

What concerns me is how quick these people were to come to this conclusion. He was fearful of everyone, especially men and children. Since we have had him, even though he is a ways from a total fix, he has come a long way. He likes cuddles and to be as close to you as he can get. He is still nervous around new people, but it's only a matter of time before he's in tip top shape.

He is far from unruly and the conclusions made about him could have cost him his life. Moco is not up for adoption.

Laker

I go to visit my friends at Halfway to Home and look at a few dogs, one of which is a Lab mix called 'Chocolate'. She has 7 puppies and Laker turned out to be the only one of his color.

He immediately started chewing on my pants and although we were scheduled to take Katie home, we took this one as well.

Laker is 6 weeks old and still getting himself socialized. The nice thing is that we will be able to mold him into the pack. Misty and the other girls have already started taking care of him.

We'll be featuring Laker at a few events in the future, once he has been neutered and finished all his shots. He is a treat to be with, and it will take a few weeks for him to become totally acclimatized.

Chyna

This is Chyna a baby Chow we got from some of our rescue friends. She is a real cutie. Everything a puppy should be and ready for a new home.  We have had her for about 6 weeks as of the beginning of October.

She is very good with other dogs, she is gentle and cuddly. She does prefer her dog friends but loves to explore and you can't help but have a good giggle at her funny antics.

Before you consider adopting her please remember to go to our FAQ's page and make sure you are committed to this beautiful puppy.

Deana "Beaner"

First let me say this puppy is not for adoption :) Deana is a family dog and rescued by our friends at "Half Way to Home" in Mojave.

She was found under a trailer with her litter of 8 puppies, 2 of which were runts and needed special attention.

I don't need to tell tell you that all these Shepherd/Chow puppies have found homes and the runts made it through the rough spots and found homes also, they were lucky.

Deana is my little poster puppy. Adopt ! Look how lovely she is. When we first got her, she was shivering in fear, drooling with anxiety in the car and afraid of other dogs.

She now won't leave you alone and is a very well adjusted dog, blending in with the pack as if she has always had a real family.

Gypsy "P"

Gypsy is Deana's sister. She had a home and due to financial circumstances the previous owners returned her to the rescue. knowing we already had Deana, we decided to keep her for ourselves.

They are both puppies in reality and recognised each other the minute we brought her home. You may call it what you will, but she is another pack member who is fortunate enough to have a happy home.

Zorro

Zorro is a beautiful Husky Mix and has an amazing personality. Although I don't know much about his history this 8 month old puppy was about to be put to sleep. So we took him home and he proved to be quite the handful when I first brought him home to my pack.

I am pleased to tell you he is still a bit of a handful, let's not take the puppy out of him ;) Along with my other pack members, he loves to go out on walks and loves to be cuddled. He is incredibly playful and after he terrorizes the birds in the yard he  spends the rest of his time sleeping .... This is Zorro at his cutest !

Petra *RIP*

This was another addition to the pack. A lot smaller than any dog we've ever had in the house.  This little girl could fit in the palm of my hand and was a cute little 8 week old Pug. My boys brought her home from a friends house and she ended up staying with us for a while. Much to the delight of the pack too they had another member to play with.

Of course the pack were just curious and she blended right in. She showed all the signs of a healthy, active puppy along with that pint size mischief you can rely on from a little girl like this one.

Unfortunately, my wifes late brother Mike, decided he wanted one of our pack on his birthday and she is now with him. Our prayers are with them both and I know Mike will look after her. God Bless Petra you will always be in our hearts.

Charo - Adoptable & Ready

This little Pit was an issue ridden little thing. She is 2 years old and nothing too out of the ordinary. She has taken to pack life very well and plays with the gang very well.

She loves to play fetch and of course she loves to be cuddled. She has been evaluated and her issues are very minor now. She needs a home with a loving family and strong pack leaders. I love this dog, you will too !!!

Taquito - Adoptable & Ready

Yes it's another Pit Bull ! Fearsome isn't he ? This little guy was rescued from a shelter. His sister was put to sleep within a few days of their arrival and it was just because a hold was placed on him that he is still with us today.

He is quite happy and dog friendly. My kids didn't seem to be too offended by his temperament either. This guy was literally a few hours from being put to sleep himself until we rescued him. He is ready to be adopted out to a home so if you have any questions forward them to us.

Thai *Adopted*

Here is one my favorite rehabilitations within the pack. He's a Pit Bull called "Thai". His beautiful, fiery brindle coat matches his temperament ... flawless ! A totally misunderstood breed and in this guy is a perfect example of that statement.

I have walked Thai down the street, passing barking dogs, people jogging, kids skateboarding and been in a dog park. Never has Thai even given the indication he would be aggressive in any way. He is gentle, affectionate, loyal and sees himself as a lap dog. I sit at my computer or watch TV, Thai is there at my feet. When I sleep he sleeps on the floor next to my side of the bed. When I walk he is right beside me along with the rest of the pack. He is intelligent and of good nature. Needless to say Thai has found a home with a loving family and is doing wonderfully.

Troy *Adopted*

You have to be a real dog lover to be able to have something the size of a horse in your home and here he is. We got Troy from a family who could no longer look after him. This big, bouncy and beautiful hound was just too big for the house.

He took to pack life very well. Got along with all our dogs .... funny really he made all my dogs look small ?!?!? Regardless you really want to see this guy run !!! He's like a rocket, but he is the most loving, drooling and clumsy thing you'll ever see.

Troy and I have a real connection and I wanted to make sure this guy got nothing but the best. I'm sad to see him go, but I'm happy to say he has found a family and a playmate his size and is doing very well in his new home - We love you Troy :)

Princess *Adopted*

Adopt a puppy/dog. If I could rescue every animal I would and they would live in my house not in kennels. I love these guys and how can you not love this ?

Princess was a scruffy, matted and smelly ball of yuck when I first saw her .... this is merely after a walk, bath, discipline and affection !!! She is not only a princess, she is also a client ;)

It doesn't take much to get a cutie like this adopted and I can tell you she is very happy with her new family.
