The Sanctuary

The Sanctuary

We would like to share with you our project in progress that we are attempting to sculpt in to reality. At this time it is merely paperwork, but with donations we hope to have this facility fully operational within the next few years. Your support is needed in creating this dream for the sake of our pets.

Southern California, has incredibly high statistics concerning its shelters and the euthanizing of its occupants. The C.A.R.E Facility would help alleviate this burden in our areas and be an example of how things should be done. The facility will be a comfortable area for distressed dogs, a place to train people, a place to adopt rehabilitated dogs and just as importantly a place to educate people, showing you how the canine world works.

The C.A.R.E. Facility

The C.A.R.E. facility would be the most advanced and comfortable facility for canine cases. It would also serve as an example of an environmentally friendly place for everyone to enjoy. Our facility would serve as a showcase home for training, assessment, rehabilitation and education. Educating the public on how the dog world works from the wild pack to the domestic pack. Teaching the complexity and simplicity of the canine world.

The property would be separated into several separate areas. Of course an area for the hosts and guests of the facility called “The Doghouse”. A training area for visiting groups called “The Forum”. Guests receiving “Welcome House” A museum and theatre area called “Petra’s Palace”. An amphitheatre called “Dylan’s Rainbow Amphitheatre” for an interactive look at our dogs which will cater to schoolchildren, families and the handicapped.

The Doghouse

Our living area for our pack and guests. To reiterate “Guests” because I don’t believe in removing dogs entirely from their home environment. People would be invited to stay at the facility with us, so that they can be a part of the dogs rehabilitation. Our existing pack would live here too. This would serve as an example of how to effectively live with a pack of wonderful canines.

The Sanctuary

This building will serve as a place to house the dogs in the best environment a dog could be in outside of the home. This structure we have named “The Sanctuary”. The ultimate dog facility is a dream for a more comfortable stay during rehabilitation and socialization to other dogs. Capacity is potentially 100 dogs.

Each run will accommodate 1-2 dogs, supplying the dogs with a bed and toys for the dogs to play with. Dogs will receive regular exercise daily in “The Forum”

The living area will be climate controlled with backup generators in the event of a power outage due to quake/heat/snow..Etc. Two sets of double doors for each entry way to keep in the heating or cooling.

Over head windows to allow in natural light, equip with shades for bright sunlight. Roof equipped with solar panels or windmills for energy efficiency.

The Forum

Open area for exercise and training, fenced separately from living area. Area will have several built in faucets and some natural shade areas for rest. Obstacles available for group training sessions.

Each fenced area will have a double fenced entry to prevent dogs being inadvertently let out.

Entering the facility will be a greeting area for new arrivals, visible to all the other dogs at the facility for introduction. Again separated by a double fenced in area.

The Welcome House

From a parking lot guests will be able to walk through this building and have questions answered, purchase pet and other products, also entry to “Petra’s Palace”.

Petra’s Palace

This building shows the aspect of evolution from wild pack to domestic pack. A guide will cover the shift in the canine role in respect to how we as humans have brought them in to our homes. Not just the concept of todays dog through evolution, but going back 10-15 000 years. A small theatre will cover the struggle to help these dogs and the plight of people who work hard to save them, from vets to rescues. This is the Showroom of all showrooms. It is intended to educate all, from kindergarten to senior citizens.

Dylan’s Rainbow Amphitheatre

The Amphitheatre is a cool place to learn about training dogs in their different fields and learning about the reasons dogs have been bred. This would allow a parade of dogs to be shown to the public. Small groups would be invited to be able to pet them and interact with them. I would love this to act as therapy for the handicapped as well.

Adoptions

“Adoptions” is exactly what it says. Dogs would be transferred from the Sanctuary to the adoptions area. A comfortable change of scenery for the dogs and an exceptional viewing area for people to see perspective new pack members. The facility would ideally be equipped with a Veterinary facility for viewing and also a grooming area where people can practice their grooming skills.
